“All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” ( 2 Corinthians 4: 15-17)
It is always such a joy to receive Pastor Randy’s letter each year asking for my prayer needs. What a privilege to know that my family is included in his special prayers that day. I also experience overwhelming gratitude when a friend says,” I am praying for you.” And as the verse above states, this thanksgiving overflows to the glory of God.
We are so blessed to have the Emmanuel church family to surround and support us in love and prayer. I know that these prayers have carried me through difficult times and given me great encouragement. It is a blessing to be able to pray for my church family and know that God will sustain them.
When I count my blessings, it is with a degree of sadness, because I know I certainly don’t deserve so many wonderful things. How sweet to know that it is all done in love by the grace of Christ. He surely renews us day by day when we are thankful for the multitude of blessings that He grants.
So be strengthened and encouraged each day, even in times of trouble. These light burdens can be nothing compared to eternal life in the presence of our Lord.
Heavenly Father, we are eternally grateful for the gift of your Son and the grace that He provides for us. Help us to be mindful about praying for others. Amen.
