While looking out my kitchen window during the last snow storm I noticed that our bird feeders were full of many different types of birds. Some were eating frantically while others waited as if fearful of getting pushed away. The next day I once again glanced out my kitchen window. No storm, no birds!
It reminded me of how we humans often times only come to our special feeding place or nurturing place during the storms in our lives; frantic and perhaps frightened regarding the Lords response to our behavior or neglect of Him during the “good times.” I can only imagine the hurt and disappointment He must feel. He gave his only Son up to be crucified for us, for our sins and for us to hopefully realize how much He loves us and wants us to always allow his presence in our lives, nurturing us and granting us His peace.
Dear Lord, thank you for the food that you provide to us for our body and our soul. Help to calm us and bring us to the table of your peace and grace. Amen.
