Is He Enough?

March 31, 2019

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you know him and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7).

Christmas celebrations 2018 made this message clearer than ever before, God coming to earth for ME. I was especially touched by this message at the noon Christmas Eve mass as we celebrated communion and talked about what God has done. From the very beginning God desired me, realizing I too was one of his children that He seeks. God became one of us in Jesus, His perfect love walking beside us, cheering us on. There is power in this message that I had not taken hold on and often still overwhelms me.

We like to think only our past, our families, careers, relationships make us who we are. But God says we are His, His alone, made in His image, and He can transform anything about us if we will let Him. As I am writing this, snow is falling, so beautiful, so pure, something only God controls. God bestows many blessings upon us, and also promises to walk with us through the dark moments. Tears, frustrations come, but I usually find when tuning into the beauty around me and messages sent to me through scripture and others, I find God once again.

Is He Enough? Ask yourself when words and actions fail you, whom do you look to; what ultimately satisfies? It is my prayer we will let Him into our worlds, and transformation will take place.

Dear Lord, let your way, your truth, your abundant life be all we need. You love us like no one else can. We praise you for coming down for us and walking with us through eternity. Amen.
