God is still speaking, but do you have ears to hear? We live in a world filled with noise and chaos. We go through our day with almost constant noise, from our busy phones, to our radios in our cars, and with the T.V. being on at home.
The question for this Lenten Season is...Do You Set Aside Time, or Make Time to Hear From GOD, each and every day?
In the old testament GOD calls out "Samuel" You know the story. In which he replied, "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening." ~1 Samuel 3:7-11
In the new testament, in the story of Mary & Martha, Mary chooses the best thing...to sit at the feet of Jesus and listened to what He said. ~ Luke 10:39
We, too, need to make the choice, to pause, to listen, to be still, and to search for GOD. ~ Draw near to God and He will draw unto you ~ James 4:8.
Take a minute and sit quietly, and to sing an old, very familiar hymn, In The Garden. Sing it out loud: "And He walks with me and He talks with me." GOD IS STILL SPEAKING!
I leave you with this quote by Mary Davis:
“May I quiet my words and listen.
May I calm my thoughts and be.
May I soften my heart and open.
May I still my soul and receive.”
Dear Lord, In this Lenten Season, help me to seek God and to ask for ears to hear Him. Amen.
